Welcome to the home of Weathernerd Labs, the site for the home weather enthusiast. Weathernerd.com offers live up-to-the-minute weather information from a weather lab based in Shakopee, Minnesota, USA.
Weathernerd.com originally started as WeatherWire.org in Fall 1998 and moved to WxGuy.net in 1999. Since then, this weather site has evolved into a widely used resource for Minnesota weather
enthusiasts and often is frequented by some well-known TV weather personalities.

brings Twin Citians accurate weather information; whether you're looking for a forcast or wanting to learn more about the weather, you've come to the right place.
In October 1998, Weathernerd purchased a Davis Weather Monitor II weather station after being
introduced to an Oregon Scientific WM-918 by a friend. Although the resident Weathernerd always enjoyed
weather and even considered choosing meteorology as a career, it wasn't until the purchase of a weather station that a passion for weather and technology was realized.
In 2005, Weathernerd upgraded their lab by purchasing a Davis Vantage Pro2 Plus weather station. You can find more information the Vantage Pro2 Plus

The Weathernerd Labs also maintain a Davis Vantage Pro Wireless Weather station. This is the predecessor of the current Vantage Pro2 but will also be providing data and is
fully operational.This station is used for developing and testing new weather software in the Weathernerd labs.
